While not everyone will or should be a Voice Actor, the world of VO is open to all kinds of voices from across the world. If you're willing to put in the time it takes to learn, make a plan, and be an active participant in building your VO biz, there's no reason why you shouldn't be successful as a Voice Actor.
When I (Melanie) first started in VO, I was told outright that I needed to be prepared to spend at least 10K to get started in VO. I'm glad to say, that is the lousiest advice I've ever received because it's misleading and completely untrue. I started out with a USB mic, a 10 year old Macbook Pro, and Audacity (which is free). Because of this, my motto is "work with what you have until you have more to work with."
The Work From Home Voice Actor produces a weekly podcast, publishes occasional blog posts, offers a free content library to email subscribers, and offers courses. We often link out to other reputable and helpful sites, courses, Voice Actors, and more.
